Changes to the Idea Book and Catalog

Stampin Up has announced some changes to the Idea Book and Catalog. The current one will end on May 31 and will be replaced with a slightly smaller catalog which will be free and then there will be 2 mini catalogs with seasonal merchandise. Stay tuned for more details but be sure to take note that the current catalog ends on May 31 instead of June 30.

I am currently taking names to fill a Stamp Club. When I have 6 people interested, we will begin meeting once a month. It is a great way to put your stamping on a budget, socialize with other stampers, and learn new techniques! We will meet once a month and make 2-3 projects. I have put my SU business on hold for the past month because I was busy making wedding programs and birthday invitations! :) One of the great things about this home business is that I can put it on hold when I need to! Here are my sisters wedding programs and my son's birthday invites. My son's invite is not exclusive SU products because there were some items I wanted for the invite that SU doesn't carry. But I used a lot of SU products. I got the general idea from another demo and modified to my own tastes!

October 30, 2pm-5pm Letters to Santa Class. You will receive to keep the Four Holidays Stamp Set and Letters to Santa Quick Accents which you will use on your projects. Class fee is $30 for stamp set, accents, 8 cards, 4 mini notes, 4 tags, handy folder for organizing. RSVP by October 15.

November 20, 2pm-5pm Card Buffet. $20 class fee. You will pick whatever 8 cards (from a selection of 15 options) to make...mix and match however you want. Each additional card you want to make after the 8 cards is $2 per card. YOu are only limited by your time (I will close up shop at 5pm). Please bring your own scissors and favorite adhesive; if you forget your adhesive I will have glue sticks for you to use. I will provide special adhesives as needed (glue dots, sticky strip, etc). Refreshements also provided. Limited to 8 people. RSVP by November 10 to reserve your spot.

November 29, 7pm-CSI (cards and stamps included). Cost is $35 for wood mount stamps and $25 for clear mount stamps. We will make 4 cards using the new Button Buddies stamp set. YOu will receive the stamp set to keep as part of this class. RSVP by November 10 to insure that you will receive your stamp set at the class!

Quick Cards, November 11, 7pm. Make 5 quick cards for $10. Great for beginners and experienced stampers! RSVP by November 1.

Here are some BIG events I have coming up. If you are in the Quad Cities Area, let me know if you plan to come! These will be lots of fun. No creativity or prior experience necessary!

October 1 10am-5pm I will be at the Crow's Nest Craft and Vendor Fair

October 6 7-9pm I am having a Stampin Up Open House at my home (contact me for directions). Come and go as you please. There will also be refreshments!

October 15 2-5pm. This is a NEW event for me! I will be having a CARD BUFFET. There will be 15 cards to choose from. For $20 you pick whatever 8 cards you want to make (mix and match). Each additional card you make after that is $2.00 per card. You are only limited by the time (I will close up shop at 5pm). You can make as many cards as you want and have time for! You only need to bring your own scissors and adhesive. Special adhesives (glue dots, sticky strip, etc) will be provided for you. It was another great group of projects at my upline's house for Stamp Club this week!

The first was an Origami Diamond Fold Card. I LOVED this card! I found a link here for instructions. You use Designer Series Paper for this card. This is a GREAT time to buy some DSP because through the end of August, SU is running a special of buy 3 packs, get the 4th for FREE! :)

This next card is SO fun....I'm thinking a great kids' bday card, but really great for anyone.

Finally, my swap for our monthly card swap. It was inspired by someone else. and the ribbon is not Stampin Up because this is actually an idea I made for my sister's Bridal Shower (using a different greeting)

Pennant Fun Card Set Class Kit to GO

Here are the details on my first Class Kit to GO. Things may be different from month to month as I work with my customers to settle into a style/format that works for all of us! However, to start off I have a Pennant Fun Card Set Class Kit to GO!

In this class kit, you will receive by mail the NEW Pennant Parade stamp set on page 69 of the new catalog and the NEW Petite Pennant Punch!

You will also receive all cardstock, accessories, designer series paper pre cut PLUS detailed instructions for making FIVE cards with envelopes. When you receive your kit, all you will have to do is stamp, some punching, assemble! You can use your own ink or you can add ink to your order at a 10% discount. The inks used in this class are Early Espresso, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade and the Basic Black and Early Espresso markers and the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen in white.

Greetings Stampers! I am posting from our new home in Iowa! I miss all my Missouri customers and stamp club so much already! All my stamp stuff is still in boxes, but if you are finding me on here from the Quad Cities, you can still order and I am available for in-home workshops. In the near future I will having my stuff unpacked and begin my class kits by mail and get a class and club schedule going. In the meantime, I am taking classes and joined my upline's club so I will post projects I make there to hold you over! :)

Christmas is over, the new year is upon us, and I am ready to get back into things now that Rosalie is 6 weeks old!

Some important dates to take note of:
1. The new Occasions Mini Catalog begins on January 4. I had a VERY hard time picking what to order from this catalog....there are a lot of fun things that I will be highlighting on my blog in the weeks to come! Start regularly checking my blog (http://katrinakraftsalatte.blogspot.com) or better yet, subscribe to my blog in the upper corner so that you are emailed everytime I post something new!
2. Sale-A-Bration begins January 25! This is my favorite time of year (second only to Christmas). If you are new to SU, during this time, for every $50 you spend you get to pick something free from the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalog! There are also extra benefits for hostesses of parties and benefits to signing up as a demonstrator. It is fantastic! Start plotting your workshop soon, as I hope to fill up my calendar with parties....don't miss your chance!

I am working out the details to offer a couple of "product clubs" during SAB so stay tuned!

I have blocked off Friday nights and Saturday early afternoons January 25 through March 31 to schedule in home workshops/parties. You host your friends for a fun time of making a card, learning about Stampin Up, and hopefully earning some great hostess benefits in free products! These are not the only dates available, so if there is another date you are thinking of, check with me! A catalog party is also an option!

I also want to take this moment to let you know about some new "policies" that I will be implementing and actually enforcing beginning in January. The first change is in regard to adhesive. In order to continue to offer my classes and clubs at what I feel is a reasonable fee for you, I will no longer be providing mono adhesive. I will provide glue sticks and double sided permanent scotch tape which are both more cost effective but will do the job equally as well. If you prefer to use the mono adhsive/tape runner, please feel more than welcome to bring your own! The second change is in regard to payment of classes. In order to protect myself from being "stuck" with supplies and pre cut projects that do not get used due to someone backing out of a class, I am now going to REQUIRE pre-payment for all classes. When you sign up you can pay by paypal, pop a check in the mail, or drop one off at my house. I hope that you all understand and realize it is only to protect myself from wasting both supplies and money on "no shows." Finally, since I have so many little children and it takes some significant "pre-planning" with my husband's schedule to hold my classes, I will cancel any classes that have fewer than 2 people signed up to attend. I have allowed for ample time between the RSVP date and the date of the class to give you plenty of notice if a class is going to be canceled.

On to the super fun stuff! The schedule of classes for January!

Stamp Club-January 12 at 6:30pm (Linda is hostess!)

Make A Monster Card Class-January 18 at 6:30pm. Cost is $10. We will make 8 cards that highlight the stamp set Make A Monster on page 95 of the Idea Book and Catalog. If you choose to purchase the stamp set BEFORE the class to use at the class, the class fee will be waived for you! (FREE class!). I have been having a ton of fun using this stamp set! You must RSVP and pay for your class (and place your order if doing so) by Januray 7.

Chicks and Chocolate-January 27 at 6:30pm. Cost is $25. I am SO excited for this class! We will make projects that are Valentine's Day themed, and each project will incorporate CHOCOLATE!!!! Stay tuned for samples, but reserve your spot NOW! Sneak peek-1 project will involve a decorated tin containing Hershey's nuggets! RSVP and pay by January 14.

Wild Card Class-January 29 at 6:00pm. Choose from any of the 3 classes being offered in January and take this time to "make up" the class. The purpose of this is to give you the chance to take a class you want to take but that you can't make it to the scheduled class time. Cost will be whatever is listed for the class you are choosing to make up...RSVP and pay by January 7.

A Cute Christmas

My husband has been going on job interviews, and I was flattered when he asked me to make some thank you cards for him to send to people he interviews with! I chose a simple design since we needed several and also because I did not want to get to cutesy or feminine. I used the big shot embossing folder "Elegant Lines". I used a variety of colors with Whisper White Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, and Cherry Cobbler. The ribbon is the Whisper White Organza Ribbon and the greeting is from the Level 1 hostess set Because I Care.

Let's Get Stamping Again!

I hope you have all been having a wonderful summer! I am ready to get stamping again now that all of my summer travels are over and the summer is winding down. My oldest starts kindergarten in 2 weeks! Gulp!!

So, let's get rolling with some fun classes in August!

First off, we will have a card class (8 cards with envelopes for $12). This will be on Friday, August 13 at 7pm. RSVP by August 9. Samples will be posted to the blog this week.

The next event of the month takes some explaining. I know it may seem early to start thinking about Christmas cards. However, I would like to try something new this year that will keep ALL OF US organized and have our Christmas cards done in PLENTY of time to send out. We will have a monthly Christmas card club for the next 4 months, wrapping it up in November. This will be very low key and free to you except for the cost of your supplies. Here's how it will work: The first month, you will design your card, decide how many you will make, and place your order for your supplies. I will help you with the design if you want and will also have samples to look at that you are welcome to copy. The second month, I will have your supplies in and you will cut all of your paper and pieces. The third month you will do your stamping. The fourth and final month you will assemble your cards! You bring your own cutter and adhesive of choice. We will take turns bringing snacks. My Big Shot will also be available for use, but keep in mind you may not be the only one using it. :) SO, here is the schedule:
Thursday, August 26, 6:30-9:30pm (pick/plan your card design, number of cards, place your order for any stamps, paper, ink, accessories, etc)
Thursday, September 23, 6:30-9:30pm (cut your paper/pieces)

I wanted to answer some questions some of you may have about hostessing a workshop. When you host a workshop you will receive a free idea book and catalog and a hostess packet that will include postcards for invitations, order forms for outside orders, and tips to make your workshop successful. I will also discuss with you anything you might like to see highlighted in your workshop, as well as what hostess set you have your eye on so we can set some goals to get you there! Then you simply invite your guests, prepare light refreshments, and sit back to relax and stamp! I do the rest!

During your workshop, there will be a brief demonstration of products and a walk-thru of the catalog. I will then provide you and your guests the supplies and time to make a project of your own! It is a ton of fun, even for those who have never stamped before! After the make and takes are complete, it is time to eat and shop!

Hello Stampers!
I am just back from my trip to the Stampin Up Convention in Salt Lake City! I had a WONDERFUL time, have come back truly energized and excited, and I cannot wait to begin our stamping year after summer break! I have SO MANY ideas buzzing around in my head from everything I saw and learned at convention!!! I have a lrot to share with you and so you will need to stay tuned over the next couple of weeks for convention highlights and upcoming promotions, as well as my upcoming class schedule! I am also working toward a recruiting challenge to recruit 2 more members to my downline. If you are interested in sitting down to learn more about the benefits of being a demonstrator (and it does not mean you have to give up coming to classes or stamp club!!), then please drop me a line. They have revamped the starter kit and made it CHEAPER. I will send and post more details on that soon!

Unfortunately, I have come home to no internet until Aug 9! So, I am having to come to a wi-fi spot in the evenings as my husband's schedule allows. So, some of my highlights, posts, and emails will be delayed and maybe a bit unorganized since I can only do a bit at a time!

One thing I want you to begin thinking about is scheduling a workshop in your home in August! There will be a WONDERFUL hostess promotion in August, and I am SO excited for this so I want you to be sure to get your workshop scheduled before my calendar fills! contact me immediately!!! Mark your calendars! I will have a New Catalog Kick Off on Wednesday, July 14. This will be Open House style so drop in anytime between 6pm and 9pm! I will have yummy snacks, a make and take, AND the catalogs!!! The catalogs are $5 or free with an order of $25 or more (unless you are in my Stamp Club-then you get it for free too!). I will also have retired products for sale, A LOT of cards for sale ($1 each), and some other paper crafts that would be great to pick up to use as inspiration and ideas! Here are the cards we will make with the birthday keepsake box! This class is $25 and is offered on 2 different dates: Thursday, March 11 @ 6:30pm OR Saturday, March 13 at 2pm I did order for 2 more spots just in case there are last minute additions so if you would like 1 of these 2 spots, let me know ASAP.

It's been awhile since I've posted. I was gone 5 days in February, and the rest of the month was BUSY with classes/stamp club/and a few colds for my kids in between!

Here are the pictures of the Birthday Keepsake Box. Keep all your birthdays and anniversaries organized in this box! Dividers will have space to write special dates, then pop your handmade cards in the appropriate spots and you will have handmade cards ready to send when needed! You will get to choose from a variety of Designer Series Paper to make your box and dividers! We will also make 10 birthday cards to get your stash started! This class is $25 and is offered on 2 different dates: Thursday, March 11 @ 6:30pm OR Saturday, March 13 at 2pm

I have had some requests to offer this class again. There is a slight change on it though. Two cost options: If you want to pick your own Designer Series Paper to make your magnets with and decorate your tin, the cost is $30 (you will keep the extra paper). If you want me to provide you with paper (no extra to keep) to make your project, cost is $20. Please RSVP by Feb 19, and let me know which option you want to sign up for. Birthday Card Keepsake Box—Thursday, March 11 @ 6:30pm OR Saturday, March 13 at 2pm

We will decorate a Keepsake box and make dividers which will have space to write birthdays and anniversaries for each month. Then to get you started with your box of birthday cards, we will make 10 birthday cards with envelopes! Start filling this box so you always have a handmade birthday card on hand and ready to give! A great way to stay organized! Cost is $25. Please RSVP by February 25 so I may get your supplies in time.

Easter Card Class—Tuesday, March 16 @ 7pm

We will make 10 Easter cards (5 designs, 2 of each design)! Cost is $12. Envelopes will be available for purchase for .25 each if you need them.

Scrapbook Class—Monday, March 22 at 7pm

Tonight we will make a 2 page scrapbook layout! Cost is $12.

Stamp Club—Thursday, March 25 @ 6:30pm

Members meet once a month to socialize, swap cards, learn new techniques and make projects I have prepared for them! Each member places a $25 order and we rotate the hostess benefits each month. This Stamp Club is currently full but if you are interested, let me know and I will put your name on a list. When we have another 6 people interested in forming a club, I will let you know and we will begin meeting! The current stamp club runs through June and at that point can accept new members. Contact me with any questions!

Product Focus-Build A Brad—Tuesday, March 30 at 7pm

Tonight we will use the Build A Brads (on page 179 of your catalog) and the ½ inch circle punch! I will teach you how to use these products! You will make 4 cards (2 of 2 designs) and go home with the remainder of your Build A Brads and a ½ inch circle punch to keep! Cost is $25 (includes your own set of Build A Brads and the ½ inch circle punch to keep). Please RSVP by March 16.

50/50 Board Game and Book to Look

Also, don't forget to "BOOK TO LOOK". Book your workshop with me and you will get to draw a "prize" out of my grab bag! Prizes include stamps, gift certificates, embellishments!

And finally, for the next two months I will have a 50/50 game going! I will have a board (picture to come) with 50 squares. For every $50 order you place (which will also get you a free sale-a-bration set) your name will go on the board. When the board is full, I will draw a name for a $50 gift certificate from me for Stampin Up products! There is no limit to how many times your name can be placed on the board (for example if you place a $100 order or 2 $50 orders your name would go on two squares and you would get 2 free sale-a-bration sets). Let me know if you have any questions! This board game will be going during the months of February and March!

Here is what we will make during the What's Cooking Class. RSVP as soon as possible! This is a fun project...fill with your most used recipes or give to a friend, fill with your favorite recipes AND give to a friend!

What's Cooking Class-Thursday, February 18 at 6:30pm OR Sunday, February 28 at 3pm, Cost $20 (RSVP by February 5)
We will make a unique recipe book for your favorite and most frequently used recipes!

Valentine's Treat Box-Tuesday, February 2 at 7pm, Cost $12
We will make a fun box filled with treats. We will use chipboard coasters to create the box, and cover it with your choice of paper from the new specialty paper, Sending Love.

Pictures for the Sweetheart class. When I went to Walmart the other day to get M&Ms they were re-doing their holiday aisle and I could not get the Valentine M&Ms yet, so these cups are not yet filled, use your imagination! :) We will make 3 of each design for a total of 12 cards. These are so fun and great to wish you co-workers, neighbors, children's classmates, relatives, and friends a Happy Valentine's Day!

Sweetheart Class-Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30pm, Cost $15 (RSVP by January 28)
You will make 12 Valentine's cards filled with treats. We will use the new, heart shaped treat cups that I emailed to you as a flyer a couple of weeks ago.
